JOB SUMMARY

This position performs assembly work of a moderately complex nature with pre-cut, drilled and edged materials to produce a quality finished good of specified materials, dimensions, and color.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Understands and follows daily color coded production schematic.
• Works to a production schedule.
• Produces required work in the time planned.
• Assembles product for one business unit.
• Proficiently uses a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools including, but not limited to drill, hammer, screwdriver, and scraper.
• Adjusts, trims, and fits parts to moderately close tolerances.
• Inspects each product assembled to ensure it meets HSC’s quality standard.  When necessary, makes needed adjustments or notifies supervisor about sub-standard quality.
• Relies on shop floor leadership for direction.
• Keeps work area clean and free of clutter.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
• Does all of the above in a manner that meets company safety requirements including, but not limited to, wearing safety glasses.
• Proficient at packaging finished goods to meet shipping specifications.
• Has basic computer knowledge and keyboard skills.
• Proficient at using HSC barcode scanning system.
• Makes routine tooling changes with tools.
• Can assemble product across differing business units.
• With the assistance of shop floor leadership, is able to redirect work schedule due to material capacity or machine issues.

• Provides routine preventative maintenance to tools used.
• Redirects work schedule independently due to material, capacity, or machine issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knows how to read a tape measure.
• Knows all standard material colors and thickness.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

·         Work involves walking, talking, hearing, and using material handling equipment.

·         Vision abilities require close vision assessments

·         Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.

·         May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

·         Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
