Description

The BOM Coordinator has main focus of assigning Bills of material (BOM) to incoming orders inside the MRP (Syteline).  They will take existing designs and convert them to the specifics of the order.  Creating the BOM is an essential function to ensuring the correct listing and quantities of material are listed, get orders ready to for production, and to ensure costing is accurate.  Accuracy and high level of attention to detail are a must.  This position acts like the gatekeeper to ensure publishing engineering data meets the departments requirements. There may also be times where light design work is required to complete the BOM for an order.
Product consists of custom cabinetry manufactured with:
  • Particle Board with Melamine or Plastic Laminate finish. Dowel or Knock Down construction methods.
  • Solid Surface.
  • Modular aluminum extrusions
  • Sheet metal and light structural components.
  • A wide variety of hardware.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES
Enter the components to a bill of material (BOM) in MRP, Syteline, for accurate costing and production including board / laminate materials, handles, slides, hinges, locks as well as any necessary hardware.
Manipulate standard BOMs to accommodate the changing of orders.
Create / modify standard BOMs for consoles and sorters.
Enter pseudoBOMs to ensure enough lead time is given to materials group for procurement.
Ability to read order verification reports to determine customer required specifications for standard products.
This position impacts directly the manufacturing and material ordering / management.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Review incoming orders for metal bases and thermofoil door ordering.
Clarify questions from customer service to ensure information is available and accurate for the engineers
Assign design hours and schedule dates for the engineering specials.
Adjust engineer schedule as changes as required to meet schedule.
Schedule and build any replacement orders that can be completed without engineer.
Creation of new part numbers in the MRP as necessary.

How to Apply

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2-year college degree in related field and 4+ years of equivalent work experience.
Experience 1+ years AutoCAD
Create models, drawings and Bill of Materials in an efficient manner. Comfortable in models consisting of unique parts and sub-assemblies.
Motivated self starter with accuracy and timely completion a must.
Able to generate CNC programs using WoodWOP software.
Knowledge of SYTELINE system – ERP. Ability to enter/ access Bill of Materials and
Labor.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software. Create files that organize data.
Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
Good communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using a variety of office equipment.
Vision abilities require close vision assessments.
Work involves lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Required to stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
Use of hand tools.
