Description
Position Summary:
The Electronics Test Technician I is responsible for in-process testing, final testing and environmental testing of electronic components and systems. Under supervision, the technician performs routine tests, assists in troubleshooting, and ensures products meet Class III electronics quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic functional and performance tests on electronic assemblies using standard test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Follow established test procedures and work instructions to verify product compliance.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in failure analysis, troubleshoot and repair activities.
- Perform limited visual/mechanical inspections.
- Record test data, results, and observations accurately in accordance with company and customer documentation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow ESD and safety protocols.
- Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Participate in training programs to develop technical skills and understanding aerospace standards.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or coursework in electronics preferred.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 0–2 years of experience in electronics testing or manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of electronic components and circuits.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic test equipment: power supply, multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator.
- Understanding of schematics and drawings.
- Willingness to learn and follow detailed work instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
- IPC-A-610/620 and ESD handling procedures.
- Experience with documentation systems or ERP software.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment requiring use of PPE including:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Eye protection or safety glasses
- Heel straps or wrist straps
- ESD smocks/lab coats
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and minimal electrical risk may occur.
